Decoding performance monitoring in force production - new paper in Neuroimage

This study, conducted by collaboration partners Prof Jutta Stahl and Yohana Siswandari at the University of Cologne, Germany, has shown that neural signals during force execution predict performance monitoring rather than simple error detection.

The study found that different force production ranges in a force production task showed no clear error-specific variations in the ERP components of interest. Multivariate pattern analysis, however, allowed for successful classification, not only between the correct and the incorrect outcome conditions, but also between the two incorrect outcome conditions.
